Config Guardian keeps a dated copy of your Zendesk Support configuration inside your own account, shows exactly what changed, and puts it back when something breaks. Nothing leaves your account.

About the developer

Built and supported by Pablo Simón, an independent developer in Ireland, for admins who run hundreds of rules with no way to see what changed or to undo a mistake.

What the app does

• Snapshots: one click reads triggers and their categories, automations, macros, views, ticket fields, ticket forms, user and organization fields, groups, custom statuses, dynamic content, SLA policies and schedules with your own admin session, and keeps them as a dated, hashed copy.
• Compare: a snapshot against the live account, or any two snapshots: created, deleted, changed and reordered objects, every changed value shown before and after.
• Restore: one rule, a selection or everything. The app simulates first, takes an automatic copy right before writing, re-creates what was deleted and rewires the rules that depended on it, writes triggers and automations inactive by default, and offers undo. Fields are never deleted, only deactivated.
• Health and dependencies: references to deleted or inactive fields, groups, forms, statuses, schedules, webhooks and dynamic content; rules unused in 30 days (when your plan exposes usage); duplicated conditions or actions; triggers without actions; views and forms showing inactive fields; outdated dynamic content; plus a dependency map.
• Storage: copies live in your browser and, on paid plans, inside your Zendesk as a custom object.
• Sandbox to production (Business): restore a snapshot taken on another account, objects matched by title.

Not covered

Skills, custom roles, installed apps, channels, Guide content (see Help Center Doctor), Explore, action flows, AI settings and macro attachments. No scheduled jobs: copies are taken when an admin opens the app.

Pro ($69 per account per month): restore with simulation and undo, copies stored in your account, comparison between snapshots, usage-based health, dependency map, ZIP export with a hash manifest. Data disclosure

• Read: the objects above, with the signed-in admin's permissions, only when the admin takes a snapshot or opens Health.

• Written: only what the admin confirms after the simulation; snapshots stored as records of a custom object in your own Zendesk when account storage is enabled.

• Never read or stored: API keys, credentials, webhook signing keys, ticket content, end-user data. Nothing is transmitted outside your Zendesk account; no servers of ours are involved.
