About this app
Made with love by Tripelhop
We’re a team of Belgian Zendesk enthusiasts that craft unique apps for Zendesk that will improve your agents’ experience. At Tripelhop we focus on making sure you’ve got the right tools at hand to get the most out of Zendesk.
Discover the app
Zendesk can show or hide a ticket field, but it cannot filter the options inside a dropdown. This app adds that: pick a value in one field, and a dependent dropdown only offers the options that fit. Chain them into cascading dropdowns. Build each conditional dropdown without code, for agents and optionally your Help Center form.
Features
Filter a dropdown on another field, a checkbox, the brand, group, ticket form, organization, priority, type or tags.
Works on new and existing tickets, and after a form switch.
Clears a value that no longer fits, restores it later and tells the agent why.
Show or hide the options you pick. "Any other value", "Empty" and category rows, with a default and required check.
Conditions on the same field combine: every one must allow an option.
Agents-only values, and conditions that skip chosen agent groups or apply only to them.
Optional Help Center script for your request form. Custom domains, nested fields and older themes work, and the app warns when it is outdated.
Search, filters, undo, bulk helpers and a short status line per condition.
Backup, import, export and the last 5 saved versions.
Unsaved-changes warning, safe saving by several admins, read-only view for non-admins.
Keyboard and screen-reader support, in English, Dutch and French.
Filtering is a convenience, not validation: the app hides options but does not enforce which value is saved. Use triggers or required fields for data integrity.
Data disclosure
This app does not store or transfer your data to other platforms. It doesn't misuse the data or expose your Zendesk to unauthorized access. It runs entirely inside your Zendesk account and has no external servers.
- Data it reads: ticket fields, brands (including custom domains), groups, ticket forms, organization names and popular tags; the signed-in user's name, language, role and groups; and on an open ticket the values your conditions use (fields, brand, group, form, organization, priority, type, tags).
- Data it stores: only your conditions and up to 5 recent versions, with who saved them and when, in this app's own settings in your Zendesk account.
- Data it changes: on an open ticket it hides or shows dropdown options, may clear, restore or default a value, and may stop a save while a required value is missing. Nothing is saved until the agent saves the ticket.
- Help Center export (optional): the script holds your conditions plus brand names, subdomains and custom domains, and no ticket or user data. In your Guide theme it is public, like any theme file.

Cómo instalar
No settings are needed during installation. After installing, set up your conditions as follows:
- Click Install and choose the Zendesk account to install the app in.
- In Zendesk Support, click the Conditional Field Values icon in the left navigation bar. Admins can change conditions; other agents get a read-only view.
- Click Add condition.
- Under Field, choose what the condition depends on: a dropdown or checkbox field, the Group field, or Brand, Ticket form, Organization, Priority, Type or Tags.
- Under ... shows values for, choose the dropdown field you want to filter.
- Click Add value. Pick a value of the first field, then select the options that should be available for it. Repeat for each value, or use Add 'any other value' row and Add 'empty' row for the rest.
- Optionally, under a row choose a Default value or tick Required.
- Click Save.
Open a ticket to check it works. When the first field changes, the second field only offers the options you allowed.
The field you filter must be on the ticket form, and so must a source field. Brand, Group, Ticket form, Organization, Priority, Type and Tags always work.
Settings
- Click the pencil on a condition to see its settings. The switch Selected options are: Shown / Hidden is there. Shown offers only the options you pick in a row. Hidden hides them and keeps the rest.
- A row can also offer (all options), at the top of the list, or (no options).
- In the same settings, choose groups under Don't apply for agents in these groups, or switch it to Only apply for agents in these groups.
- The headset icon on a selected value marks it Agents only, so end users never get it on the Help Center form.
- More actions (the ... button at the top right) downloads or imports your conditions and opens Recent versions.
- To use your conditions on the Help Center request form, click Export for end users and follow the steps shown. Download the file again after you change your conditions.
